We will continue to manage our district finances responsibly. While our residents are willing to invest in Stevenson to continue achieving excellence, they rightfully demand that their money is spent wisely and expect to see their tax dollars hard at work. That is why we work so diligently to manage our district funds effectively. We consistently spend less per student than most similar high schools, and we currently spend the 3rd lowest per pupil amount compared to these schools.
Through diligent fiscal stewardship we maintain a responsible fund balance, allowing us to address unexpected budgetary challenges and plan for future growth. We maximize administrative and staffing efficiencies, with fewer administrators per student than most comparable districts. Through informed and intentional long-term planning, we mitigate future financial risks, in an effort to provide economic and educational stability for our community.
Moving forward, the public can be assured that we will continue managing the district’s finances as efficiently as we have to date. When the community approved a referendum in 2001, the district promised that we would not go to referendum again for at least 10 years. That was more than 20 years ago, and we are doing everything we can to avoid another referendum for the foreseeable future.
