Roni S. Ben-Yoseph
Roni Ben-Yoseph joined Stevenson’s Board of Education in June 2022. Roni and her husband, Roey, have lived in Lincolnshire for four years. They have twin daughters in 7th grade and a son in 8th grade at Daniel Wright Junior High School.
Roni is deeply committed to education, both personally and professionally. A graduate of New Orleans Public Schools, she earned her BA from Bard College and Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. In 2015 Roni pursued her yoga teacher training and advanced certifications in Children’s Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga for Special Needs. As a student, educator, and parent, she has experienced a diverse range of educational cultures and possibilities. Her professional life and service work reflect that diversity in action. She is on the faculty at Lake Forest College in the Department of Religion. As a yoga educator and advocate, her work includes teaching students with disabilities in area schools and self-care and mindful movement workshops for caregivers and educators.
Dr. Ben-Yoseph has been an active parent volunteer for years. Before moving to Lincolnshire the Ben-Yosephs lived in Highland Park, where Roni held multiple leadership roles in NSSD112, including co-president of the Ravinia School PTO and co-chair of a Superintendent’s Committee charged with analyzing district finance, facilities, and configuration. In D103, she co-chaired the Music Appreciation Committee, sat on the PTO executive board, and served on the Vision 2025/Portrait of a Graduate Committee. In the course of her volunteerism, and now as a Stevenson Board member, Roni has developed a strong affinity for public school policy and governance.
